Semester Study Abroad Programs

Stritch offers many exciting and affordable semester study abroad opportunities. Partner universities are chosen for their academic excellence, curriculum, safety and charming settings. Stritch currently offers semester study abroad opportunities in these countries:

  • Argentina
  • Australia
  • China
  • Costa Rica
  • Ecuador
  • England
  • Ireland
  • Japan
  • New Zealand
  • Norway
  • South Africa
  • Spain
  • Wales

The International Education Office will help you find a semester abroad program that fits your academic career path. If there is another country or foreign institution you would like to study at then we will help you make it possible. Please contact studyabroad@stritch.edu to arrange an appointment or simply stop into our office located in Duns Scotus 114.

Getting started: You will want to complete the Semester Study Abroad Application form, as well as the International Medical Self-Disclosure form and you should ask two Stritch faculty or staff members you may have worked with or had class with who know you well to reference you by asking each to complete the Semester Study Abroad Reference form. Your references may provide their completed reference forms directly to our office.

All forms should be returned to the International Education Office. You may also find these initial semester abroad forms on the table outside Dun Scotus 114. Please note that the semester study abroad application requires a three-page essay answering the questions on the back of the application form. Your essay should be put together as if it was a paper you were handing in and it should clearly answer the questions on the application form. It should be submitted to studyabroad@stritch.edu.

Academic Intensive Programs

Gain academic credit by participating in an academic intensive program taking place during the winter, spring or summer breaks. Academic intensive courses pair a three-credit course from various disciplines with international travel and immersion. Courses take place and meet regularly during the spring semester and participants must ensure they are registered for these courses during the normal registration period in fall semester and before winter break. Academic intensive programs for spring semester 2009 are taking place in Ireland and Mexico and are paired with the following Stritch courses:

Academic Intensive Program in Ireland:

  • BU 243 International Sport Business
  • EN 205 Literature of the Indomitable Irish

Application Ireland

Academic Intensive Program in Mexico:

  • SPN 310 Spanish Immersion Experience
  • SPN 311 Spanish Immersion for Health Care Professionals

Application Mexico

Getting started: You will want to complete the respective application form, as well as the International Medical Self-Disclosure form and you should return both to the International Education Office. You may also find these application forms on the table outside Duns Scotus 114. Please note that the semester study abroad application requires a program deposit prior to Dec. 5, 2008. You may make this deposit via check or credit card to the Stritch Business Office.

Please contact studyabroad@stritch.edu for questions concerning Academic Intensive programs or simply stop into our office located in Duns Scotus 114.
