Course Description

(as found in the Cardinal Stritch University Catalog for Undergraduate Studies 2000 - 2002)

This course offers a variety of geometrical topics which may include taxicab geometry, conic sections, four-dimensional space, trigonometry in the unit circle, the geometry of the sphere, and geometric patterns in art. The topics will be determined by the instructor and the needs of the students.

Chapter 2: Mathematical Arguments and Triangle Geometry (available September 5)
Chapter 3: Circle Geometry and Robust Constructions (available September 24)
Chapter 4: Analytic Geometry (available October 8)
Chapter 5: Isometries in the Plane (available October 24)
Chapter 7: Symmetry in the Plane (available November 12)
Chapter 8: Hyperbolic Geometry (available about November 21)

Study Guides for Tests

Study guides for each test will be posted one week before each scheduled test.

Study Guide for Benchmark Test #1 will be available September 20. The window-of-opportunity for this benchmark is October 1 through 15. Make an appointment with Sister Barbara to take the Benchmark outside of class time.
